Little Art

Aren't these guys the cutest? This is a set of five limited edition prints from Mitchell and Dent. Each little lovely is only 3.5 x 2 inches! I think this collection would be perfect for a nursery. I don't have a child, but I bought them anyway to make a cute collection in either the kitchen or bedroom. I mean, how can you resist them?

Now, to find some cute frames or another clever way to hang them. Thoughts?

Playing with Food

I'm a real sucker for food-themed objects (especially sweets!), and I love anything comically disproportionate to its actual size. So, you can imagine how much I love these little lovelies! The cupcakes and tarts are earrings, the croissants are hairpins, and the bread is just for fun. Too cute!

A Bit of Style Inspiration

I am not an American Idol fan at all. I have seen maybe one episode since the show began. This morning, I came across an interview with recently eliminated contestant, Lacey Brown. I was so excited when I saw her; she has absolutely fabulous hair and adorable style!

I have had short hair since my junior year of high school. I'm a huge supporter of women who take a chance on the look. In a silly way, I feel an instant connection with other short-haired women. I joke with my boy A. that it's like we belong to the same small club.

Lacey's look is inspiring me to try something a bit more edgy for my next hairstyle (which changes VERY often). This is me sporting one of the many cuts I have had in recent years..

{me}

My hair is already a vibrant red hue (unlike the brown in this picture). Now, it's just a matter of finding the right product that will hold a funkier style in place!

Are you a short hair girl, or do you prefer the longer look? Whatever your preference, the most important thing is to feel confident and happy!

All Things Polka Dots

{ 1 2 3 4 5 }

In looking around my apartment today, I came to the realization that I own A LOT of things with polka dots. The tea towels in the kitchen, the spoon holder on the stove, various pieces of wall decor and the sheets on my bed are all covered with spots; not to mention the fact that I adore any sweet covered in little round sprinkles (however, I don't discriminate when it comes to tasty treats)..

Who can blame me though, right? These little speckles have to be one of the happiest prints around!

Appreciating the Little Things

Stella Dottie and Princeton Francis

I think that everyone experiences, once in a while, a moment that causes you to pause and appreciate the little things in life. I had one such moment this morning.

I usually wake quite early during the week. I roll out of bed, feed the kitties, let the light in and enjoy a few quiet morning moments with a cup of coffee and the local news. This morning, I opened up the curtains to find a family of seven deer right outside the window. They were crossing the deserted street in a line, right in the crosswalk.

It was one of those moments where I just smiled to myself. Stella and I sat on the couch, watching the deer slowly cross the street and wander into the woods; it was a great start to the day.

What makes you smile?

Cute Grocery Totes

................................via Katy Elliott ................................................7..DarcyArt

Although I love to both cook and eat, I strongly dislike grocery shopping. In our small town, there is only one grocery store and the selection is pretty limited. It's also extremely busy, being so close to the largest University in the state.

What I dread most about the chore, though, is lugging all of the bags from the car to our second floor apartment. Hating to make more than one trip, I try to grab all of the little plastic bags at once and trudge up the stairs before they break.

I do have generic reusable bags, and good intentions to use them. But I inevitably forget them in the car only to remember once I reach the checkout.

So, here is my theory: Cute grocery totes = a happier shopping experience and a cleaner environment! This is rock-solid logic, I think.

Now, I will take one of each of these totes. Thank you.

Pretty Mobiles

These mobiles would be such a cute addition to our little apartment. We have high ceilings, so a hanging work of art would fill up an unused corner perfectly! These adorable little decorations aren't just for babies anymore..

Now, back to my research. After two weeks of relaxation in honor of Spring break, it's time to get to work. I can count the number of weeks (six!) until I will be holding my Master's degree!

The So-Not-A-Kitchen ... Kitchen

I am mildly obsessed with this unconventional kitchen recently featured by AT. The artwork! The color! The vintage-inspired range! The cute dog! I can't say enough good things to convey my adoration. Who wouldn't want to cook in this lovely space? If I could move in today, I would.

Little Treasure Holders

I have always really liked the idea of a locket. They are the perfect way to keep those important to you close. I just might have to get one of these adorable lockets to carry my little family around with me. The hard part will be fitting a tiny picture of Princeton, Stella and A. into one of these

Whimsical Little Worlds

I am loving these terrariums from Doodle Bird Designs. These whimsical little worlds in glass remind me of Alice in Wonderland. The movie, by the way, was a lot of fun and visually stunning!

The Cheshire cat was my personal favorite..

Oxford Flats

Recently, I have come to the realization that I am not really a heels kind of gal. Don't get me wrong, I think heels are fabulous, but I feel much more comfortable admiring them from afar than actually rocking them myself.

Flats are much more my speed. I love accessible, comfortable, "quirky-chic" (in the words of my boy A.) style. I think that the recent oxford flat trend fits the bill perfectly. I would love to get a few pairs of these for work!

If I had a style twin, she would be it. Everything from the coat to the hair (ESPECIALLY the hair!) perfectly captures my personal style aesthetic.

Love!

Sarah McGuire

I am loving these pieces from Sarah McGuire. I really like the natural shape of the stones and the asymmetry of her work - truly unique.

The ring at the top would make a fantastic alternative to the traditional engagement ring, no?

What do you think?
